Rough Guides has voted Rio de Janeiro as the best destination in 2014. According to the guide, Rio knows how to organize beautiful parties and the Soccer World Cup will be an event not to be missed. Also the fact that the city is preparing itself for the Olympics, which will be held in Rio in 2016.

CNN and Lonely Planet have also elected Rio as the top destination in 2014.
